Atlantic Records signs the next YouTube star, Charlie Puth - "Marvin Gaye" Single with Meghan Trainor
The man behind cultivating artists such as Trey Songz, Cody Simpson, and Wiz Khalifa, is a man by the name of Mike Caren, the worldwide president of A&R at Warner Music Group. With the new year upon us, Mike's eyes are now set on internet sensation Charlie Puth.
The musically talented artist has gained a numerous amount of fans since his performance on social platforms such as Twitter, and Youtube. You might have heard of Charlie from the Ellen DeGeneres Show in which he was asked to perform his cover of “Someone Like You” by Adele alongside Emily Luther which we featured in 2011. Since his nationwide TV performance, Charlie caught the attention of Miles Beard and Ben Maddahi who signed him to a publishing deal with APG (Artist Publishing Group), and was most recently was signed to an artist deal with Atlantic Records via Mike Caren. In the past couple of month, Charlie has wrote and produced for artists such as Trey Songz, Kim Jonsin, Jason Derulo, and Lil Wayne whose records are scheduled to be released later on this year, along with Charlie's debut EP. His first single off Atlantic Records, titled "Marvin Gaye", is expected in early February 2015 which features Meghan Trainor.
