Artist Known as Chet Faker Evolves To His Own Name, Nick Murphy
Australian artist formerly known as Chet Faker has announced his switch up - sticking true to himself and evolving as a musician, Nick Murphy will be addressed as such moving forward.
"its been half a decade since I started releasing music as Chet Faker and all of you have been the driving force behind the music since.
theres an evolution happening and I wanted to let you know where its going.
the next record will be under my own name, Nick Murphy.
Chet Faker will always be a part of the music.
This is next."
The artist known as Chet Faker certainly made a name for himself, releasing two smashing albums, Thinking In Textures and Built On Glass. 2012's Thinking In Textures won Best Independent Single/EP at the Australian Independent Records Awards, including his "No Diggity" cover that racked up over 43 million streams (and counting.) 2014's follow up album, Built On Glass, released on Future Classic and received high praise. Single "Talk Is Cheap" can constantly be heard all around the globe, and the video for it is just as beautiful.
Most recently, CF collaborated with producer Marcus Marr to present a tasteful four track EP, Work... But, the work is done here. We're positive the future as Nick Murphy will be a triumphant one at that.
