Adrian Daniel Reveals His 'Disillusions' in New Album
Whoever chose Adrian Daniel’s new album title was right on the money -- aptly titled Disillusions the mixture of mellow instrumentals and introspective lyrics, Daniel artfully dissects heartbreak and disappointment over a strong 15-track body of work (with some interludes).
Giving less credence to flashy productions and party songs, Daniel allows his voice and incredible personal analysis to thrive. With his single “Pride” of last year, we commented on his blend of Kanye West and Michael Jackson influences and this is extended and fleshed out throughout Disillusions, with musical distortions indicative of West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Daniel’s playing with his falsetto and vibrato reminiscent of Jackson.
While the entire album is fantastic, we personally love “Pride”, “Devoted”, “Hollow Shell”, “Fool”, and “Fkkking High.” And even though “Moment of Reflection” is not an actual ~song~ the decision to end the album on a moment of peaceful waves ties together the thoughts and emotions put forth in such an inspired way.
Be sure to purchase Disillusions this Friday (4/1) and let us know what your favorite tracks were!
