5 SPOT: Rock Artists You Need To Hear Right This Second
Mackenzie Scott, who performs under the pseudonym TORRES, is an indie singer/songwriter with a hauntingly beautiful voice. Her album Splinter was produced by Rob Ellis and released about a year ago through Partisan Records. The self titled track "Splinter" has a laid back vibe but is super emotional. The visuals are interesting in the sense the entire video is in some sort of distorted black and white and then towards the end a splash of color gets added.

2) Tiny Moving Parts
This Minnesotan emo/punk band has such a full, catchy sound for only being a 3-piece. The trio is comprised of Dylan Mattheisen, William Chevalier, and Matthew Chevalier. Signed to Triple Crown Records, the latest record, Celebrate, was released on May 20th, 2016 and does a great job of making you feel some sort of nostalgia (in a good way). I highly recommend seeing Tiny Moving Parts live in concert because you will be in awe of the instrumentation and you can't help but smile because all the band members seem to be constantly smiling while on stage. Check out the goofy video for "Headache," directed by Kyle Thrash, below:

3) Bay Faction
Bay Faction has been one of those bands that I've been recommending to every single person I know. The lyrical content reflects stories that give a sense of familiarity with the listener. Other than that, the music is straight forward catchy and jazzy. These guys have a bright future and something about them will surely captivate your attention. Remember the name (subtle Fort Minor reference? Sure, why not).

DMA's is a another 3-piece band on this list. These guys feature catchy guitar licks and upbeat lyrics that remind me of old Arctic Monkeys' music. The sound is definitely one that could last for years on end in my opinion. Check out the creatively-edited music video for "Lay Down" below and turn up your volume. The debut album Hills End is out now and waiting to be listened to!

5) Beach Slang
Beach Slang is one of those bands that makes you feel a lot of different emotions at the same time. You can jam out to them but also connect to the very honest lyrics. When the debut album as a title of The Things We Do to Find People Who Feel Like Us you know the subject matter is unfiltered and real. These guys are the embodiment of what punk rock is about.
