5-Spot: Must-See Artists At SXSW 2017
The South by Southwest (SXSW) conglomerate arts conference has been showcasing new films, music, and various media since 1987. Each year there are musical artists worth keeping an eye on. Since some careers often substantially blossom within the industry because of SXSW, it may be worth focusing on the most unique and marketable talents. Here are five artists worth keeping an eye on:
Fatimah Warner, aka Noname, is bright and real and as a result what she creates feels like something monumentally fresh. From her appearance with Grammy-winner Chance the Rapper on Acid Rap to her own release of Telefone, the 25-year old is making a name for herself speaking of the reality of what it means to be a black woman and to have grown up in Chicago. Noname was so hyped that her Jan-Mar tour of North America saw a majority of the shows being sold out way in advance.
